The Beginning + Postwartrade.com Shirts are UP!

Hello everyone!! If you know about what I’m talking about, then skip down to the “What’s New?” Section. If not, read below:

How it all Began

Alright, so this all started by purchasing tickets to see Amanda Palmer live in Concert on Nov. 16th. It was a spectacular day, definitely one I’ll remember for a long time. While at the concert, I had my camera ready in hand (as did tons of other fans) and I was taking photographs like crazy. I think overall I had 58 photos, and 3 song recordings/snippets.

While browzing through my photo list, I was thinking of ways to enhance the quality of the photos. I stumbled upon a few that I liked, did some work and nothing really ‘wow’ed me from them. Except one photo. I played with the colors, made it a white image on black background and thought: “This would look good on a t-shirt.” I saved the file and left to go do other things. I didn’t really think to do anything with it then.

A few days passed and I was browzing the AFP myspace when I saw PostWarTrade (which was also on my friend’s list) and sent the design in. A few weeks passed and I didn’t really think anything of it.

Until I got this e-mail:

“Hey Brent!

Amanda digs your shirt design and we’d love to get some to put up on Post War Trade. Here’s the run down of how we run it: you make us the shirts (Amanda wants them hand-printed…is that cool?), give us a price for them and we pay you. You send us the shirts, we mark them up and put them on the PWT site with a link to your work and a short bio.

If you’re still down to make them, let me know how much they’d be and I’ll get back to Beth about quantity.

Talk soon!
Katrina”

At first I didn’t know what to think of it. I was too dumbfounded to believe that this was someone from the Actual PWT. (Katrina, by the way, is awesome)

Well of course I replied back and said that I’d LOVE to make the shirts for them. We settled on a price, I did some finishing touches, printed a few prototypes and… that’s where it all began.
